The Flexi Choices team sure has had a busy start to 2023. They’ve provided 159 group activities for people across all Mambourin hubs, as well as 359 personalised activities tailored to individuals’ needs and requests. Our group activities provide a great opportunity for our community members to get out and about and have some fun with mates on the weekend.
All activities are chosen and approved by our community members and as you can see from their happy faces, we are having a great time!

A wide range of activities and events have been offered taking into account people’s specific needs and requirements. Whether it’s a hub-based themed day or community activities the Flexi Choices team is here to help.
Our Altona group take a break while exploring the city
Some of the activities offered to Flexi Choices group members this year to date include – AFL games, barbeques, ArtVo, Avalon Air Show, Moomba Festival, Bacchus Marsh Blues Fest, Easter arts and crafts, Flemington races, all the Melbourne Zoos, museums and galleries (Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, NGV, Fire Services, Scienceworks), bowling, movies, lunches and dinners out and live shows.

Live shows have been very, very popular. Groups and individuals have been along to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, 9 to 5: The Musical, Mary Poppins, Frozen, Hair Spray, Rapunzel, Silvers Circus, Razzamatazz Show, Ed Sheeran, Queen Forever, monster trucks and more. And looking forward to the future, we have groups booked in to see Mamma Mia, Grease, Wizard of Oz, Beautiful: the Carol King Story and Pink in 2024.

The Flexi Choices team of Judy Dare (Melton, Bacchus Marsh and Deer Park), Narelle Macvean (Werribee and Altona) and Tina Mason (Braybrook, Sunshine and MBS/Social Club) are exceptionally proud of all the individualised support that we can provide for our community members who are looking for just that something different. We love talking to community members and their parents and carers, and planning personalised days and nights out that truly make them smile and their lives more meaningful.

Bringing friends together is also a priority for the team. We have facilitated a lot of small group activities with best friends this year, because everything is better with mates! Long-time friends – Melissa and Susan, Barbara and Zen, and Frank, Russell and Samuel have all had great days out filled with laughter and fun.
