International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is held on 3 December each year. It is aimed at increasing public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. You can visit the IDPwD website to find resources and learn more about IDPwD.
Each year the UN announces a theme for IDPwD. The 2021 theme is ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world’.

City of Melton
The City of Melton is holding inclusive and interactive online workshops on 3 December including:
Specialist Hoops: Basketball Workshop*
Time: 9am – 9.45am
*Basketballs will be provided and delivered to your home.
All Abilities Dance workshop
Time: 10am – 11am
Art Access Victoria: Drawing Workshop*
Time: 11am – 12pm
*All materials will be provided and delivered to your home.

Bookings open on Friday 19 November at 9am and close Monday 29 November at 5pm.

Brimbank City Council
Sunshine Leisure Centre, in partnership with Reclink Australia, welcome members of the community living with disability and their carers to the centre to try some swimming, gym and other active programs.
Please contact the centre so they can make sure a staff member is available welcome you at the front door and show you around the centre.
There will be free access to the centre from 10am-2pm on the following days:
- Monday 29 November
- Tuesday 30 November
- Wednesday 1 December
- Thursday 2 December
- Friday 3 December

Inkrewsive Hip Hop launch at Loop bar
Over the last 3 months Inkrewsive Hip Hop and Wild at Heart have been collaborating with students with disabilities from India to write a track and produce a music video.
On 3 December 6:30 – 7:30 they will launch their song, Lockdown e Bondoho internationally from the Loop Bar. This is a free event, bookings not required.
